Important addition to June East CAC Meeting: Stadium Advisory Committee

Sunday, June 17th, 2012

As mentioned in the previous CAC meeting, St. Augustine is forming a Stadium Committee to ensure that the college is being responsible to the community and its residents regarding the stadium and its use. They would like for the Committee to play an active role in helping them with transparency and compliance with their agreement with the City.

To that end, they are asking that the neighboring CACs have two representatives each on the Committee. *In Monday’s meeting we will accept nominations for and vote on the two representatives from our CAC*. We have a very full agenda this month and would like to get this decided early, so we’ll add this to the Neighborhood Reports section of the agenda.* If you are interested in being a representative to this committee, or in nominating someone, please make sure you arrive on time to the meeting.*

If you have any questions about this, please contact CAC Leadership: cac-leadership at eastraleigh.org

East CAC May Meeting Highlights

Sunday, June 3rd, 2012

Hi Eastsiders!

In an effort to get important information out in a timely manner, your leadership team (Ms. Deborah, Emrys and I) decided it’d be a good idea to send out a fast-blast of info soon after the East CAC meeting each month so you don’t have to wait until the newsletter comes out to get informed (Of course, you could also get informed by coming to the meeting the third
Monday of each month at 7pm at Lions Park Community Center…). Obviously, this is not “soon after” the May meeting and I apologize. I will try to get better! But for now…

Here is some important (and hopefully somewhat timely) info to share:

-Donations Needed For Enloe Graduation Reception
Your help is needed to put on a fabulous reception for Enloe Seniors and their families following the Graduation Ceremony. Families of Juniors traditionally take the lead, but since we are short on donations of food and time, we are asking the *entire Enloe community* to pitch in. Cookies, lemon bars, brownies, and vegetarian samosas are just a few of items needed. The following link will lead you to more information, a complete
list of needs and a signup sheet:
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D4CAAAE2CAB9-enloe

– *Longview Park Community Watch* will meet on *6/5 at 7pm* in Media Center (Library) of Enloe HS. For more info contact Matt Leary (mattleary at hotmail.com)

-Increased crime city-wide. RPD will have more officers out across the city, including the East CAC, in plainclothes and unmarked cars. If you would like to have a plainclothes officer in an unmarked car sit in your driveway at various times, please email Officer Krysko (James.Kryskowiak at raleighnc.gov)

-Always try to ask your neighbors if they need help with yard
maintenance first before calling Inspections. Sometimes your neighbor is sick or otherwise unable to make repairs or do yard work and would appreciate an offer of assistance.

– Parks and Rec. – see more at www.raleighnc.org/parks
o Lake Wheeler Annual Kids’ Fishing Day – 6/2 9am

Thanks and I hope you have a great and safe weekend!
